Reflections

I’m talking to myself,
I guess,
Since words echo back.
I’ll put them to rest.

I’ll rest them in treetops
Where sparrows lay
Buried in their wings
Memories that make them sway

I’ll rest them in petals
Soft, that bloom before you
Once, warm in the sun.
Now, they’re chilled with dew.

Sleeping Beauty

A poem from the archives 09-09-04

You’re my prince charming.
Can’t wait ‘till we meet.
Take me by the hand.
Sweep me off my feet

Rescue me from danger
Loneliness and strife.
Kiss me on the lips
And bring me back to life.

Rust

I look through the window.
Pain
And stillness in the air.
Broken trains

On broken rails and street
Cars
Where the asphalt and sky
Meet. Small jars

That hold small memories.
Rust
Covers the keys you hold,
Now in dust.

Message In A Bottle

I bottled my emotions
And threw them out to sea.
To my surprise,
They came back to me.

Delivery

Wrap me in a box
And send me off to sea.
Tell me I'll become
As happy as can be.

When I reach the shore,
And when I touch the sand,
Then I'll realize
I'm on some distant land.
